Email Bob Pastor Bob Welsh grew up in Schuyler County, Missouri. In 1968 He trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior during an old fashioned revival meeting at the Lancaster Baptist Church. After serving as worship leader at the Lancaster Baptist Church for five years he was called to serve as pastor of First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Missouri in 1984. After 16 years in Atlanta he accepted the call to become the senior pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri in October 2000 where he served until becoming senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Moberly.
From 1986 to 2000 Pastor Bob was the lead singer of the Southern Gospel singing group The Wildwood Quartet. During that period of time the quartet presented over 300 gospel music concerts throughout the Midwest. Over the past 27 years Pastor Bob has preached and led worship in some 60 revivals and bible conferences.
Pastor Bob and his wife Chris have two daughters and five grandchildren. He enjoys sharing Jesus, preaching the Word of God, reading good books, listening to Christian music, watching reruns of the Andy Griffith Show and old western movies, and spending time with his family.
Email BrianBrian Veal has been serving as the Associate Pastor since July 2009. Brian and his wife, Karla, were married in 2001 and became members of First Baptist Church soon after. In 2007 they moved to Kansas City so Brian could pursue his education at Midwestern Baptist College and was called 2 years later back to Moberly. Brian enjoys spending time with Karla, reading and relaxing in front of the TV. Brian's passion is to equip young people with the ability to study and grow in God's Word and encourage them to live an evangelistic lifestyle.
Beccy Winn serves as the Director of Worship and Music Ministries at First Baptist Church of Moberly. She, her husband Dennis, and her three sons came to Moberly 10 years ago from the Chicago suburbs where they served on the Lake County Baptist Association church planting team. Beccy brings nearly 15 years of music ministry experience to First Baptist. She has a passion for leading God’s people to experience His grace and mercy as they gather to worship Him week by week. It is her desire that you would join together with us here at First Baptist as we seek to honor God with our praises to Him, our service to the church, and our love for the lost.
Email DianeDiane Fischer joined the FBC staff on April 28, 1990. Becoming part of the staff of FBC has truly been a blessing to her. Having a servant heart as she serves the community of faith is very important to her. She is a faithful member of Coates Street Presbyterian Church and after working at First Baptist Church for twenty years, First Baptist has also come to feel like home. Diane has a degree from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman) in Elementary Education. She has two children: Jennifer and Karl Orscheln and Mark and Vickie Fischer. She has four grandsons – Samuel, Cody, Ethan and Nathaniel. Diane enjoys reading, quilting, crocheting and playing with her grandsons. She is also involved with Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. She was married to the late Sam Fischer.
